Phase I ESA
Blue Ridge performs Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to determine the nature of potential environmental issues at a site during a real estate transaction or refinancing. ESAs involve four key steps: site and area reconnaissance, records research, interviews, and reporting. Blue Ridge personnel have performed hundreds of ESAs across the United States at residences, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. Environmental concerns frequently indentified include underground storage tanks, aboveground storage tanks, transformers and hydraulic equipment, chemical and petroleum substances, septic tanks.
HUD Environmental Review Checklist
Blue Ridge personnel can perform the tasks necessary to collect the information for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Environmental Review Record Format II Environmental Assessment Checklist (Checklist). We will prepare and submit letters to select agencies (i.e., state historic preservation office, US Army Corp of Engineers, US Fish & Wildlife, permitting office, zoning department) to obtain backup for the responses presented. We will assemble the available maps (aerial photographs, flood insurance map, site plans, topographic map, wetlands map) and other information required in the Checklist into a package for submittal.
Compliance Audits
Blue Ridge performs Environmental Compliance Audits at all types of commercial and industrial facilities to ensure compliance with applicable local, State, and Federal regulations regarding ASTs, USTs, air, waste storage and disposal, spill prevention, and stormwater. Blue Ridge assists clients to ensure that they obtain the proper permits and have the proper written programs and plans required for the type of business operations conducted at the facility.
